I have plenty of raw resources and a huge economy scoring over 1000. Think the only resources that I don't produce in significant amounts are silk and opium. In fact, there is precious little I don't produce locally I produce the most, iron, coal, sulfur, wheat, fruit, etc, etc. This despite me being able to produce all the military goods I need locally. I've never been able to fund a substantial army and navy without significant tariffs and taxes as it requires an ass-ton to buy up the material in the national stockpile. I've ask many, many questions in the past regarding the economy and why people seem to think Laissez Faire, no tarrifs and low taxes are so good.
